Carte Sparse at Fabriano Boutique, Milan

The Fabriano Boutique in Milan, Via Verri, 3.

The exhibition Carte Sparse (Scattered Papers) at the Fabriano Boutique in Milan, Italy, will be open until the end of July. We have the opportunity to use their space to exhibit, for two full months, our limited edition books, calendar books and a portfolio of prints by artist Julia Binfield and more of her wall pieces. The portfolio shown below is a limited edition of 50 copies, that Edizioni Almenodue designed and hand-bound specifically for this event. We were delighted to work with a new typeface Odile, by Sibylle Hagmann, donated to us for this project. I have contacted Sibylle after reading about her work in the February issue of How Magazine. The text on the colophon is by Giovanna Zoboli from Topipittori Edizioni, that presents our collaboration with Julia Binfield. My friend Bari Zaki has donated some beautiful vintage stamps and Japanese paper for the collages contained in the portfolios. We are greatly thankful to all of them!

Portfolio of three letterpress printed drawings of Julia Binfield, with Japanese paper collages. The hard-cover portfolio is made of Japanese paper Kyosei-shi, Hakusen paper to separate and protect the prints, and cotton tape closure.
The rest of the paper used for the edition is Fedrigoni Old Mill and Fabriano Rosaspina. The portfolios were in sale during the exhibition.

Pod in Brookline, Massachusetts

If you are visiting Brookline, this is a place to see! Pod it's right next to the Public Library, where I go every week. The store itself, on two floors, has a beautiful light, always an amazing smell from incense and candles, also clothing and bedding.
Last spring, I had a trunk show there, with Susy Pilgrim Waters. Probably we will have another big event this coming November. It will be just beautiful to be there again!

Hudson, South End ~ Boston

Today, I have deliver my first order to Hudson, in South End. It's a beautiful fairly new store in Boston, underlined as Purveyor of fine home furnishing and accessories. It is right next to a very good cafe`, South End Buttery , I will suggest to visit them both! In the fall, I will have a trunk show there, including a simple binding hands-on demostration. I will definally post more informations about it, when time come closer.

Printing Arts Fair

As a first day on my blog, I'm posting some pictures from the Printing Arts Fair I was part of, last Sunday. The Fair was in North Andover, Massachusetts, in and out of the Printing Museum. A lot of bookbinding and printing demonstrations. It was a real pleasure to meet personally the people behind Albertine Press, May Day Studio and all the students from the bookbinding program at The North Bennett Street School. The amazing letterpress printed poster is by Leslie Evans, from Sea Dog Press.
