A marvelous wedding

To end the week, I want to post the amazing collaboration between Rifle Paper and Co. and Saipua. A love at first sight when I saw these pictures and the style of the wedding on their blog. The cotton ribbon in chartreuse played a little role on the design of the program and combined with beautiful illustration by Anna Bond, it made the result stunning. I can't wait to see how she incorporates the full line of tight weave ribbons into her wedding portfolios, debuting at the Stationery Show. A new collaboration I really look forward to seeing in person. More on the upcoming Stationery Show next week, but for now I just wish a restful weekend!

Purl's party and Satsuma Press giveaway

Growing up with my mother as a seamstress, it is not a surprise I'm particular fond to anything textile, fabric, thread and scissors. And Purl in New York is one of my favorite store. I donated some cotton ribbons for their raffle and I wish I could attend the party, this Saturday, the 24th at their new location at 459 Broome Street. Maybe some of you can go!
Another giveaway with 50 artists contributing prizes is open now at Satsuma Press for the next two weeks. Tickets are available for purchase to benefit Lynn's son and all the details on the raffle and how it is possible contributing are here. Thank you everyone and happy weekend!

New arrival

Found today outside my door a huge box of cotton ribbons, arriving from Rome. I have been waiting for them for months now, just in time for the Stationery Show. All colors and weaves back in stock, on my green cupboard. So happy, I needed to take new photos with this beautiful light!

A day in the sculpture park

Lotus Invitations

Last week I was immersed working on a wedding invitations suite that involved different elements and was completely hand-made, using the lotus folding structure, letterpress and calligraphy. I assembled a few moments of the process in the pictures below, I hope it can give a little idea of the design. The client chose a metallic paper for the invitation and a floral decorative paper for the band closure. Printing was done on Stardream paper and envelopes. The Ebru calligraphy is by Micah Zimring and letterpress printing by Albertine Press. After designing, cutting, folding and gluing the different parts, I also calligraph and addressed all the envelopes. The design process started months ago, but what a pleasure when all the elements were ready and I had to work on the final pieces. This explain why I was away from blogging for the entire week!

Studio space

Ideally, I will start looking for a studio space over the summer and move in the fall so latelly I'm particularly attracted to any images of artist/designer studio that represent my dream. There are a few that really inspired me in the last few days. The amazing collaborative studio of The Hive at 1511 and the upcoming studio and shop by Anna Bond of Rifle Paper co. But isn't brilliant this shed studio in England, that Jill point it out? If I could build something like this outside my home, it will resolve a lot of my problem. A real delight the photo of the scissors collection on the shelf!

Daffodil alphabet

Beautiful selection of alphabet designs found at this blog, where you can find more and more inspirations in different links on the site. But when I see daffodils, they always remind me of the amazing work Imagine/Align done by friend, book artist and calligrapher Susan Skarsgard at the University of Michigan Nichols Arboretum. Enjoy!

Spring collaboration with Pikku

The last few days has been warm, sunny and colorful and I was finally be able to take some photos of our new collection. Pikku's wrapping paper combined with the Italian cotton ribbons, in new designs ready for spring. A real pleasure to photographs in their vibrant colors! As me and Shelley are getting ready for the National Stationery Show coming up in May, I'm happy to announce that the collaboration of Pikku's wrapping paper with the ribbons, will be in displayed and presented at our booth. Meanwhile, the collection is also available for sale at the shop with the selection of 4 sheets of paper and your choice of 10 yards of ribbon. For some of you that are waiting for the full stock of colors, I can finally announce that a large shipment of ribbons has been sent today from Rome and it should arrive in just a few weeks. I learned how to be patient with the Italian manufactures and distributors, but today, for me, this is the best news! Happy spring!

Over the weekend

What a wonderful, sunny weekend and a beautiful party at this Cambridge House with close friends. A lovely time and I'm ready and refreshed to start a new week!

Ina-Matt from the Netherlands

Visually beautiful the inspiration and colors by designers Ina and Matt, found via Tas-ka. This is all what I needed today and I will spend the rest of the day away from the screen. It's a long weekend, see you all on Monday!

Seeds and more seeds

My children's school is working on a community garden and and they will sell herbs and seeds as a fund raising for the school. I think it is a brilliant idea, I also love to walk by the garden every morning. I will contribute to designing a simple logo, labels and stamp. It is all coming along when I found this children book in my collection and I'm pretty sure I will include some of these illustrations from 1959. The funny thing, I found the same book on sale on Etsy.
