Our bookseller, Bill and Vicky Stewart of Vamp and Tramp, work intensively to represent book artists and fine presses to different University Special Collection Libraries around the country. We have just received two new placements for our limited edition books. The Jumblies has been purchased by the Stanford University Library and The Owner of the Bow by the Washington University Library.
We are very thankful to their effort in representing our work!
I have posted before about the limited edition The Owner of the Bow, and I'm including now some information about the first collaborative book by
Edizioni Almenodue.
The Jumblies, by Edward Lear is part of a collection of Nonsense Songs, Stories, Botany and Alphabet, published in England, in 1871.
The book has been printed entirely in letterpress on Italian Fedrigoni paper by Lucio Passerini, in a limited edition of 150 copies, in Milan, Italy, during March 2004.
The illustrations are by Argentinian artist Fabian Negrin, now living Italy. It's hand-bound with Japanese Obonai paper on the hard cover and Japanese hand-made paper end sheets . It presents a single signature pamphlet stitch sewing on a folded Fabriano mould-made paper.
The text has been translated from English into Italian by Damiano Abeni and composed in Proforma a typeface designed by Petr van Blokland.
All together a great collaboration, that led us to continue working on
limited edition books.
