I had a great time printing in letterpress with Shelley at her studio, in Somerville, MA. A full five hours, printing on a Vandercook, two colors holiday greeting cards, on Fabriano Medioevalis cotton paper. Plus some beautiful card stock we had available. Shelley was excellent to make printing easy and productive and had a brilliant idea on how to improve the entire design, by overlapping the two images. After the first color was completed and we were ready for the next step, the result wasn't exactly what I was aiming for, so a new idea is what we needed!
The beautiful stripe bird is by Susy Pilgrim Waters, as a lot of other paintings and illustrations throughout my blog. Here some photos of the work in progress and the finished piece, more pictures, details and comments on Albertine Press blog.
What a truly wonderful collaboration!
We are getting ready for holiday trunk shows and studio sale, and more informations on various events will be soon announced.
We also still have a few openings for our Letterpress and Bookbinding Workshop for the weekend of November 10th and 11th! A lot of work still needs to be done,
I hope November will be a good, productive month!
