Typographic Tree
Summer is definally in the air and I'm constantly getting distracted from the hot weather, new projects and frequent guests and children around our home. Though, I found these brilliant Typographic Tree by Gordon Young on Debi Van Zyl blog, to be inspired for the rest of the morning and focus more on my work!

Yesterday night
A trunk show at Susy's Home is always a deligth, particularly when is filled with other talents, great friends, good food and cheers. Nevertheless the summer heat and a final thunder storm, the Summer Soiree was a great success. The summer light allowed to pictures some details of the event and of her studio, which is always a great inspiration for the months to come!
For a glimpse on Susy's silkscreen clothing and bags visit her new online shop.

Summer colors
Early rise this morning and I'm organizing the new cotton ribbons that arrived with bright, fresh colors. I particularly love the Cherry and Cyan to add to my collection. Now available in the shop with six new colors, in 50 meters rolls. As I stack them to get ready for the Summer Soiree tomorrow evening, I'm happy they arrived just in time from Italy to announce the beginning of summer!

Printing Art Fair 2010
My very first post on this blog was right after the Printing Art Fair of a few years ago, during a very hot day. Unfurtunally this year the fair wasn't very well attended as the previous times, but nevertheless the steam roller was printing large sheets, papermaking was wet, and all the printing machines in the museum were having great demonstrations. I had more time available to talk with my letterpress friends of Albertine Press, May Day Studio, Pressbound and Zoetropa, gather around our tables and that made the trip to North Andover all well worth it!

Retype
Just received some informations regarding an event in Altamura, Italy for designers interested in typography, letterpress and wood type! and the title Retype sounds interesting on its own! I looked around the site and found some beautiful images, that easily revoke the beauty of this old printing shop and the expertise of the people still working there. The site is all in Italian, I'm sorry, but browsing around is worth the visit!

Pikku Sketchbook
I can't resist to post these pictures of Pikku's sketchbook, taken during our meeting the other day. Discussing colors, patterns, textile and ribbons all during some intensive few hours, she left me dreaming when she return back to Vermont after a precious time of inspirations. News on our collaboration will be ready for the fall and now I quickly go back to work!

Pikku
I'm excited to meet Valerie of Pikku tomorrow for brunch. We are officially meeting for the first time, after the collaboration of wrapping paper + cotton ribbons and I love her design. We have a lot of other good ideas in mind for the future and I'm sure meeting up in person, in front of a cup of espresso, will make much difference. Getting also ready for the Printing Art Fair on Sunday, happy weekend everyone!

Back in the shop
Today a large box of ribbons arrived at my door, with new colors for the summer. I will work on the photos and pricing in the next few days, but meanwhile I wanted to updated my shop with the Cotton Ribbon Sampler and get ready for the upcoming events. It takes quite a long time to prepare the Sampler, but there is something very creative of sorting and assembling the 20 colors ribbons together in one package. I hope you will enjoy it!

Ink and Wit + ribbon
I always like to post the use of cotton ribbons into some other designer's work. I'm amazed about the endless application of this material and to see the result. I have met Tara of Ink and Wit at the past NSS and she asked me right at the booth to use some ribbon for her new product display, before even becoming a final product for sale. So here it is Ink and Wit bunting with a Marigold ribbon for hanging on the wall. Available with other great products in her shop!

For the month of June at Pod
Received today the invitation from Pod to view this amazing collaboration. In her own words: We are completely thrilled to be hosting a little 'pop-up' venture featuring the collaboration between American artist Sherry Olsen and the Japanese line Fog Linen Work. For the month of June, we'll be showcasing and selling, of course, a selection of items--clothing, housewares, and original art from this unique union. I will make sure to stop by!

Back from Squam Art Fair
Another magical evening at Squam Lake for the Art Fair. Even after a few times, I still enjoy the scenery and peace I find there every time. Loved to meet my dear friends Jill and Susy, together with our booths and Maya and Liz for our annual trade and hugs. After driving back very late at night on Saturday and resting all yesterday, I'm ready for a productive week. And looking forward to Squam again in the fall!

In the press
Thank you Flora and Ceres, there is my Alphabet Ribbon in the current issue of InsideOut, under the homewares trend. Hard for me to imagine that it is winter in Australia. I love that little spots of red, among the black and white table arrangement!

Baileys Home and Garden
While I'm still looking for my ideal studio space, I like to indulge in these images from Baileys in the England country side. Mentioned the other day by Barbara of ChellisWilson, I found so many beautiful items and inspiration just in one site. Also love scissors, in any shape and any size!
