I'm working on a new product for the fall that started with some wood spools, but they were too light or too new to look the way I wanted them to be. So I decided to dye them with some black tea I bought years ago in the Souk of Aleppo, Syria. I like the result and I will soon finish what I have in mind. Lots of memories from the time spent in that ancient city, I needed to pull out some photos from the trip. More news to come on the new product and enjoy the first day of fall. It is sunny and warm here today, but I know it won't last for long....

I love your photos of Syria. These are rare. Nice photography!
Beautiful shots of the Souk... I too have a collection of vintage spools and am trying to come up a good project worthy of the materials... for now they are stacked up in my studio (and constantly getting knocked over!). I love your blog.
Thank you for your comments! I hope you will like what i made with the wood spools.
