Giveaway and facebook

As long as my giveaway only have a few names to manage, I'm happy to be able to do an "hand-made" giveaway to pick up the winner. My daughter writes all the names, folds them and pick up one to win from a fabric bag. I really appreciate every single comment on the Calendar Book and I wish I had more copies left to send one to each of you. Thank you for all the thoughtful comments and for all of your support in my work. The winner is jlbmia, please send your mailing address directly to mail@angelaliguori.com and I will send the copy right away this week.
Another little announcement is my new facebook page. I'm planning on posting more photos, more info and updates. Another way to keep us all connect, I think. Please join, if interested, thank you!

NY International Gift Show

I'm working fast to updated the online wholesale catalogue for 2011 by the beginning of the NYIGF this weekend. My products will be represented by Albertine Press and May Day Studio at our shared Booth 4124, Studio Division! Very grateful for their help, can't wait to hear and read more news from the show. To design the enclosed announcement, I photographed a vintage tag from the Dennison Manufacture Company that I now discovered is still exist! I love the stain of rust around the metal on the tag.
The calendarbook giveaway will continue until January 31st and each online order will also include a copy as well, until that date. Thank you!

Calendarbook 2011 and giveaway

Some shots of the Calendarbook 2011 in progress, some in Rome, some on my studio/blue table. This is maybe the real treasure I brought back from the trip, a huge, heavy package, in my suitcase. I'm mailing some of the last copies of the limited edition this week and I would like to start a giveaway with the winner to be announced on January 31st. Just leave a comment on the calendar below.
The self-promotional Calendarbook is an Edizioni Almenodue collaboration, every year with a new artist. For 2011 the illustrations are by British Claudia Boldt of Cloud Cuckoo studio, on a accordion book measuring 8 x 27 inches. It's a progressive calendar, that also lists the sequence of the 365 days. I so discovered that my birthday is on the 207th day of the year. This brilliant idea was by my collaborator Silvana Amato. The font we used is still unpublished, by type designer Alessandro Colizzi. Called Neon, is a pleasure to see it printed, even though we only had capitals and numbers to work with. The accordion book is tie together with waxed linen thread in beautiful teal color to match the illustrations. The image of the London bus, we repeated on the card, is one of my favorite. Let me know what you think!

Some Treasure

While Boston is inevitably white and cold, I look at some of the treasures I brought back from the trip. I'm always amazed at some traditional Italian design on labels and business cards. Loved this place in Firenze called Cantinetta del Verrazzano and the old picture of cafe` Sant'Eustachio, one of my favorite place of all! hand-made bread bag by c.u.c.i.n.a.

Bookhou coasters

I have Bookhou on my daily reads and I always find something inspiring and somehow peaceful, in all what they do. Today I saw a new project with a little detail of Chartreuse cotton ribbon and it was an happy surprise. Loved to see how she used the ribbon we trade years ago!
Going soon to the citizenship ceremony and today I will become American! pretty amazing isn't it?

Roma Part two

Getting used to the cold weather and the amount of snow here in Boston. But can't stop looking at the pictures I took during the trip to Rome. Interiors details of the Fabriano boutique and Gusto. And one of my favorite architecture San Ivo alla Sapienza.

Ecco Roma

Suffering from cultural and climate shock, I came back home a few days ago in what feels as ice age. Slowly recovering from jet leg, I miss the colors and warmth of my city. Ecco Roma during this last trip!
