NY NOW 2015

Two invites fo the same trade show, I just couldn't decide which one to use. NY NOW from February 1st to the 4th. New products to launch as the Black ribbon with Gold, Silver and Copper line. And new Loose Weave metallic ribbon in Peach and Navy with gold thread. Please note: the Vintage Glassine are back in stock for wholesale and retail orders. Summer 2014

Today is our last day at the studio, before closing for four weeks. We will be away from July 21st until August 18th, but we will leave you in good hands. Hillary Deane that has been assisting me in all aspects of the studio operation, will be able to process domestic orders and the online shop will remain open. Wholesale orders, expedited delivery and international will resume after August 18th. Rebecca Cahan, that has been working at the studio in the last two years, will continue production for our new holidays products launching at the NY NOW in August. As usual, we pair our display with Albertine Press letterpress stationery and I couldn't be any luckier to have such a great help for every show. Wholesale catalogue summer 2013

Once again you will find Studio Carta and Albertine Press together at the NYC Gift Fair. This year is a new location, on the lower floor, with other booth from the Studio Division. Our new Booth number is 7416, see you in a few weeks!

New! Metallic elastic cord and braided ribbons

Excited to introduce some brand new products at the upcoming NYC International Gift Fair. I enjoyed designing the new package and labels for the Elastic Cord and Braided Ribbon and I hope it is something that will elegantly complement the holidays wrapping! The studio is full of sparking ribbons and they bright my desk, well before the holidays are even close! We are working hard to get everything ready for the Gift Fair and preparing to leave to Italy for a few weeks, at the same time! The studio will close from tomorrow August First, until August 21st for a long overdue visit with my family. I hope you are enjoying summer and let me know what you think of the new products. New Pikku ribbon

Soft pink petals Pikku ribbon! A new pattern and collaboration between Pikku Wares and our studio, we are thrilled to offer a new design to our line. Very delicate and striking at the same time, so happy about the result! The new Pikku Ribbon will launch wholesale at the upcoming NYC Gift Fair and now available in our online shop, only! Moments of NYC

The days spent in NYC feel already long ago and I miss those moments lost around the city and enjoying walking, even in the icy rain. The show is always a treat, I meet and talk to tons of people and see so much in just a few days, that they feel as the most intensive days of the entire year! Thank you to everyone that took the time to visit us and commented on our new products. We are truly grateful! Before these shots of NYC and the show seems too old to share, here they are! A few highlights of the trip: visited ABC Carpet and Home (a revelation), meeting with Tinsel Trading, Austin Press, Kstudio, Lovell Designs, Fog Linen and Pi'lo, having brunch with a dear, old friend at Community Restaurant in the Upper West Side, Muji and all the great people I met at the show! NYIGF January 2013

A preview of what is new in our studio this winter 2013 and what it will launch at the upcoming New York International Gift Fair, this weekend. Just a glimpse on our new products, showing at Booth # 4210, Studio Division, together with Albertine Press and May Day Studio. Pikku Ribbons launch at NYIGF

You might have follow us since the very beginning of our collaboration, that started by combining the cotton ribbons with the Pikku wrapping paper a few years ago. Then we designed a full collection of cotton ribbons, printed in silkscreen with Pikku pattern designs. Now, after much request, we are ready to launch the same ribbons at wholesale price at the NYIGF, presented with a whole new packaging. 2 yards of cotton ribbon rolled on a wood paddle, hand-made in Vermont! We are excited about the idea of recycling and reuse the wood piece, so that it won't be thrown away. You can use it again with more ribbon and hang your collection on the wall, as an inspiring board. I believe as an object is so pretty on its own and it shows much craftsmanship in each detail. Let us know what you think, for now I'm back to work on the rest of the samples for the show!

Emerald and Citrine

Something is in the air: a preview of the custom dye yarn launching at the NYC gift show as a the new twine for the fall. And a warm welcome to all the new comers landing on my blog, coming from Geninne's post. We are busy assembling orders, they will all ship tomorrow. Thank you!

New colors

New colors loose weave cotton ribbons launching at the upcoming NYC gift show: Emerald green and Pumpkin. Pretty excited about these two new colors, particularly when combined together or with all the other greens on the ribbon line. They are now available in the shop and for pre-show wholesale orders! more news on the show to come.....

Vintage

Things have been pretty busy here at the studio, since back from vacation. Though very quite, except BBC news on the radio to bring me back to reality everyday. We are getting ready for the NYC gift show, thanks you to all of your advise, working on some new products, a large order of stamps and glassine and dealing with a lot of American vintage that brought a few amazing surprises. Here are some shots from the last week and more news to come.

Wrapped Cotton summer colors

Last week arrived during an hot day, these Wrapped Cotton string in soft summer colors. New: Pink, Mint and Lemon and they look lovely. Now available in the shop in spools of 94 yards or small clothespins dolls of 5 yards. They are ready to debut at wholesale price at the upcoming International Gift Fair in NYC, please inquire if interested.

24 hours in NYC

The trip to NYC was fast and intensive. But 24 hours in the city and a day spent at the NYIGF it felt as an intere week past by. I'm back to my studio rushing to ship last minute valentine orders and new products. The show is still on until tomorrow and I miss being at our new booth and meeting tuns of people every day. The show was an incredible inspirations to me.... and what a pleasure meeting Yumiko Sekine and Shanna Murray in person, among many other amazing designers! Thank you everybody that took the time to visit us!

Product preview

Something I'm excited about the NYIGF is to launch wholesale the Vintage Glassine Sets this weekend. The idea came with the first glassine I saved over the summer and I slowly developed a simple packaging for a set of 30 assorted envelopes. They are all different, some with old calligraphy, catalogue numbers and some just plane. They are in several sizes and shapes and they varies in shades of cream/white color. As the vintage stamps, they are also from all over the world. I believe, this variation in each set is what makes them unique. and Susy's calligraphy on the labels..... let me know what you think. Also new at the show, Chocolate and Sage cotton ribbons, in 6mm width. Now the collection of large spools of 400 meters, presents 10 colors. I'm pretty excited about this too.

Ny International Gift Fair

Starting this Sunday the 29th until February 2nd, our booth # 4210 will be at the NYIGF, Studio Division. It is us again, Albertine Press, Carta, Inc. and May Day Studio, but in a brand new booth. Designed and created by Shelley with a new industrial style to enjoy. It was fun to photograph a preview of our booth at Shelley's studio and have the feeling of its look once it will be constructed. All three of us will launch new products for 2012, but mostly, I'm excited of showing everything under a new prospective that will propose individually our work with a different light. Come to visit us and see. Thanks Shelley for all the hard work!

5 mm ribbons ~new colors~

Launching this weekend at the NYC Gift Fair are the new colors of the 5 millimeters ribbons, custom made in Italy in some of my favorite colors: Chartreuse, Pool and Melon. Good for endless packaging and gift wrapping, the ribbons comes in large spools of 400 meters, also in Red, Natural and Black. While my orders from Italy become larger and more consistent, I was be able to lower the cost of some of the ribbons, by saving on the cost of shipping from across the ocean. So this seems a good news! The 5 mm ribbons for now available at wholesale only, please check our catalogue if you are not visiting the fair or come to visit our studio and see other projects that we are working on this summer. A quick preview was just announced this morning. More news to come, I'm sure, as summer days go by so quickly......
