American Made, by the fantastic team at Martha Stewart, was a blast! The studio has been completely upside down since we came back and I'm playing catch up ever since. Too much to say and so much to show, as four days in NYC and the event itself are hard to resume in a few words. Oh, how much I wish to be a better writer! Maybe the following photos can recap the spirit of those days. We met lots of interesting people and vendors, spent a glamorous night at the opening gala, had the pleasure of spending long hours right next to Enormous Champion, Gleena, Red Bird Ink and Thread Follower. Tried samples of the best tea by Bellocq and the best pizza by Sullivan Street Bakery and yes, it was exiting to see real Martha Stewart in person, always surrounded by bodyguards and photographers. I had my moment with her: she came to pick up some spools of cotton twine for some of her projects! I completely blushed!
in a few days I was be able to squeeze a quick trip to Marimekko, Eataly, great sushi, and a fast walk under the rain in SoHo to visit Purl, Makie and Le Pain Quotidien. I came back home exhausted, but incredibly happy and inspired!
A special thanks to all the people that came by at Our Finds Market Place and to my bookbinding demonstration. It was a pleasure to meet you all! and to my sons that made the best display of the wood spools, assembled together as pyramid, that received a lot of attention from the press. How clever and it was their idea. Grazie!
